About Me
I am a New York State board certified clinical specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy. I have worked with kids from birth to adulthood to maximize functional independence and participation with peers by improving strength, balance, and coordination of gross motor skills. I work closely with families to determine appropriate goals, educate parents and caregivers, and communicate with the child's health care professionals.
After receiving a B.S. in Movement Science from the University of Michigan, I moved to New York City to earn my Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Columbia University, where I graduated with Honors in an advanced track in pediatrics. I received my board certification in pediatric physical therapy (PCS) in 2023. I have experience working in all settings of pediatrics including sensory gyms, schools, hospitals, and families' homes with a breadth of diagnoses and conditions.
I believe PT for kids stands for "Play" and "Thrive." Physical therapy sessions should be fun and incorporate the child's passions and interests. Throughout the spectrum of childhood, kids grow and develop through functional play from tummy time to organized sports. My goal is your goal: to maximize independence and safety so your child can be an active participant and flourish in your community.
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to study under and work alongside some of the leaders in pediatric therapy, and I have become proficient in many therapeutic techniques, including but not limited to, Neurodevelopmental Treatments (NDT), Myofascial Release, Kinesiotape interventions, Gait & Orthotic analysis, Sensory Integration, and Pelvic Disorders. In addition, I utilize a D.I.R.Floortime® approach to build relationships, create an individualized treatment plan, and progress through the developmental ladder.
Outside of physical therapy, I lead an active lifestyle including participating in intramural sports, outdoor activities, and traveling. I am a certified yoga instructor, and I love to incorporate yoga principles into my life as well as into my physical therapy practice.
